Introduction

Pupster Tech is a trusted IT services provider in Kaitaia and the Far North of New Zealand, specialising in cloud solutions, EFTPOS systems, website development, remote IT support, and local business technology services. Founded with a focus on reliability, precision, and customer-first solutions, Pupster Tech has grown to serve small businesses and organisations across the region, providing high-quality IT support wherever it’s needed.

Our Origins

From the closure of Laurenson Technology, Pupster Tech (originally DoggyTech) emerged with a commitment to doing things differently. Laurenson Technology, had been a successful business in terms of customers but lacked capital, ultimately leading to its voluntary liquidation. Unfortunately over 500 devices were sold at auction, and key repair tools and inventory were not recovered during liquidation.

Seeing the need for a trustworthy, precise, and customer-focused approach, Pupster Tech was founded on the principle: “Precision is Proven.” Our goal has always been to deliver reliable IT solutions, while prioritising honesty, transparency, and exceptional service.

At the beginning, we partnered with Salman Khan and Chris Shelswell. Chris, a self-taught software engineer, designed numerous websites, while Salman, a junior technician, brought energy and positivity to the team. Salman also collaborated with Brad Panther of Panther Tech, strengthening our network of trusted professionals.

Following the closure of Laurenson Technology, at least seven other businesses emerged in the local market, including one operated by the former owners of Laurenson Technology. In response to this increasingly competitive landscape, Pupster Tech strategically shifted its focus away from high-volume mobile phone repairs toward supporting small businesses with comprehensive, locally delivered IT services.

We briefly partnered with Spark Business; however, operational inconsistencies, particularly the late allocation of jobs that had been scheduled weeks in advance, made the arrangement unsustainable. In contrast, Pupster Tech emphasises automation, high reliability, and consistent service, with technicians based in Houhora and Coopers Beach, ready to serve every part of the Far North.
